The Buzz Behind Natural Wines: Pour Decisions
Picture a bottle of delicious red or crisp white wine. Has natural wine entered into that thought? Have you joined the natural wine team, or are you still on the fence, or have never been brave enough to try it?
Every Bottle – A Story
Perhaps this will pique your interest. Maybe you have to know what this natural wine thing is all about.
The natural wines we find in NYC – and around the world – are more of a concept than a category. In its purest form, it is unadulterated fermented grape juice – and nothing else. You could call it ‘low-intervention,’ ‘naked,’ or ‘raw’ wine – choose whatever vibes with you.
The cult following of natural wines is almost as intense as the witch-doctor-like practices of the winemakers. They have rituals and processes that are both intriguing and strange. All this is for the purpose of saving the planet from chemicals. Oh, and did we mention the bonus? Less chemicals and tannins mean lighter hangovers, so you don’t feel like you got hit by a train the next morning. It’s a win-win, literally.
With all the buzz and promises natural wines offer, it’s flipped the wine-tasting script at our Soho-townhouse restaurant, Little Ways.
Raw & Raving Tastes: Grape Expectations
If natural wines had a dating profile or filled-out personality questionnaire, it would sound something like this: unapologetically fruity, offering a different side to grapes. It’s fun, light, and ready to be the life of the party.
Sip & the City
At Little Ways, the selection of high-quality natural wines has become a part of our two-story restaurant and supper club’s way of celebrating flavor. Each bottle does more than fill glasses, we intend it to inspire conversations and spark connections.
You might as well make a reservation and pair your meal with a crisp natural wine, like a skin-contact orange. If it’s red you’re looking for, the Soho Cheeseburger goes really well with natural red wines like Gamay.
The possibility of casual upscale dining hides in plain sight at this townhouse restaurant in NYC. The menu is just waiting to be explored. Soon, your crew will know your drink of choice (and where to find it, too).
Your first bottle is ready and waiting. Are you?
